4-H STEM Out-of-School
These outreach programs engage 3rd – 5th graders by exposing them to scientific thinking and concepts while developing math, engineering, and technological skills.
Bring the Larimer County 4-H, Science Out-of-School program to your community center, afterschool program, or youth organization! Larimer County Extension will provide the facilitators, training, curriculum, and materials. You provide the location, support staff, and participants.
Classes are 45 minutes long and are scheduled a minimum of three weeks in advance. All programs are provided free of charge.
There are many exciting topics that the program offers. Imagine engaging hands-on activities on topics such as:

Larimer County 4-H Embryology Program
Enhance the learning that happens in your classroom with these benefits for students:
- The opportunity to learn about chickens, eggs and embryonic development through observation of the egg hatching process
- Knowledge of the development of life in just three weeks
- Enhancement of math, science, and language art skills
Embryology Kits are available on a first come first served basis. Kits include everything needed, including curriculum, nesting area, heat lamp, and 7-10 fertilized eggs. The equipment is used throughout the hatching process, usually around 23 days.
Larimer County Extension Blender & Spin Art Bike Program
Larimer County Extension offers a fun-filled, educational opportunity with a Rock the Bike pedal powered activity! We have both the spin art and blender attachments to offer diverse educational opportunities that allow participants to be in an open, joyous, and receptive state, where they are ready to interact and learn.
